Government policy &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/policies\/keeping-the-uk-safe-in-cyberspace\">Keeping the UK safe in cyber space<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The Cyber Essentials scheme has been developed by Government and industry to fulfil two functions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>It <strong>provides<\/strong> a clear statement of the <strong>basic controls<\/strong> all organisations should implement to mitigate the risk from common internet based threats, within the context of the Government\u2019s 10 Steps to Cyber Security.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>And through the <strong>Assurance Framework<\/strong> it offers a mechanism for organisations to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers and others that they have taken these essential precautions.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Documents<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<li><a management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The two levels of certification, Cyber Essentials, and Cyber Essentials Plus are set out:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cyber Essentials<\/strong> certification is awarded on the basis of a verified self-assessment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CyberEssentials Plus<\/strong> offers a higher level of assurance through the external testing of the organisation\u2019s cyber security
