Please note, that here the talk is about <strong>data<\/strong> breaches, and not all kind of security incidents. In data breaches, the number of <em>stolen<\/em> records is continuously used in calculations.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Per capita cost is defined as the total cost of data breach divided by the size of the data breach in terms of the number of lost or stolen records.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/codb1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"codb1\" src=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/codb1-small.png\" width=\"450\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The site contains a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.databreachcalculator.com\/\">Data Breach Risk Calculator<\/a>.
