And even many portfolio management tools are relying on retrieving and updating information from online sources. Especially &#8220;Yahoo! Finance&#8221; is widely used information source. <a href=\"http:\/\/jstock.sourceforge.net\/index.html\">Jstock<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/stock-portfolio-manager\/\">stock-portfolio-manager<\/a> (no installation required) are open source examples.<\/p>\n<p>Surpricingly there are not many portfolio tools for markets which cover the offline sources. The method presented here is targeted more for markets where online resources are not easily available. Or to situations where one would like to have one simple way for portfolio management. For other situations, one need to perform comparison of tools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Template by Microsoft<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The excel template by Microsoft called <a href=\"http:\/\/office.microsoft.com\/en-us\/templates\/stock-investment-performance-tracker-TC001023352.aspx\">&#8220;Stock investment performance tracker&#8221;<\/a> might provide base for your own easy portfolio management. The figure below shows an example, with fictious data filled in and the currency symbol changed into Euro.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/stock-portfolio.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"331\" alt=\"Stock-portfolio\" src=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/stock-portfolio-small.png\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freeware Alternative<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/breaktru.com\/stock.html\">StockWatch<\/a> provides a more <em>mature<\/em> Excel based alternative. The approach is good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/stockwatch.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" height=\"401\" alt=\"Stockwatch\" src=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/stockwatch-small.png\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The only minus is the distribution via installation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your own<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By combining the ideas from the 2 above, one can easily develop your own excel.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, these excels are targeted for situations where data is feeded in manually.
