A portable version is called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbox.me\/\">Portable-VirtualBox<\/a>, and it can be runned without installation (but requires admin rights).<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualbox.org\/\">virtualbox<\/a> site:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64\/Intel64 virtualization product.<\/p>\n<p>VirtualBox runs on<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows<\/li>\n<li>Linux<\/li>\n<li>Macintosh and<\/li>\n<li>Solaris hosts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7)<\/li>\n<li>DOS\/Windows 3.x<\/li>\n<li>Linux (2.4 and 2.6)<\/li>\n<li>Solaris and OpenSolaris<\/li>\n<li>OS\/2 and<\/li>\n<li>OpenBSD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbox.me\/\">Portable-VirtualBox<\/a> site:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Portable-VirtualBox is a free and open source software tool that lets you run any operating system from a usb stick without separate installation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Installation went as instructed, portable tool downloaded the virtualbox installation. Then some distributions were downloaded from their <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualboxes.org\/images\/\">images page<\/a>. Distribution images with &#8220;<em>name<\/em>.vbox&#8221; file are ready to use. For distribtions with &#8220;.vdi&#8221; file one need to create a new virtual machine, and use &#8220;.vdi&#8221; as disk. The figure below shows the default settings used for xubuntu.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/virtualbox-ubuntu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/saisa.eu\/blogs\/Guidance\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/virtualbox-ubuntu-small.jpg\" alt=\"virtualbox-ubuntu\" width=\"450\" height=\"511\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Youtube test<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Flash videos tend to be problematic issue with some linux distributions. A test was made to play a youtube video. In order to do that, adobe flash player plugin was installed.
